Robert Pattinson has announced some news that will no doubt shatter a large portion of the female population – the Twilight star has confirmed that he really is dating co-star Kristen Stewart. About time!

Robert dropped the bombshell at the Bafta Awards in the UK on Sunday, at last confirming the relationship with his co-star after months, if not years of speculation that the two are an item.

Rob revealed the news almost casually as he told a reporter “It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes.”

"We can't arrive at the same time because of the fans. It goes crazy. This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple but it's impossible. We are here together and it's a public event but it's not easy.

"We have to do all this stuff to avoid attention."

The couple (gosh it feels good to finally be able to say that!) arrived at the awards ceremony separately but “couldn’t get enough of each other” once inside, and were snapped leaving together holding hands.

Looks like all those Robsten believers weren’t so crazy after all! !
