Miley stepped out in Los Angeles this week with two very cute sidekicks!

We’ve been having trouble deciding who’s the cutest: Miley’s Aussie actor boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, or her new puppy, Mate.

Miley named the new dog Mate because her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, being the True Blue Aussie that he is, uses the word all the time.

"I just bought a little German Shepherd and I named it Mate because I always say ‘mate’ now to Liam. So that’s my little German Shepherd dog’s name", Miley wrote on her blog.

While the dog is definitely cute, we don’t think it looks like a German Shepherd. Maybe a Golden Retriever perhaps?
