• THE PARTY: Planning to meet up with your crush isn’t made so obvious or awkward if it’s at a house party. Choose your moment carefully – that is, strike up a conversation a little later in the evening when he’s situated away from the main action of the dance floor and other girls.
• AT SCHOOL: Sometimes the one thing that makes a kiss awesome is the exhilaration of getting caught by your friends. An empty corridor or a lone seat at lunch might be all it takes for a sneaky (and awesome) kiss to eventuate.
• ON A DATE: The end of a date is always the most awkward part especially if you both really want to kiss each other. If you’re pretty sure he’s feeling the vibe, take control and kiss him goodbye on the cheek but close to his mouth. When you draw away, stay close to his face, say a cute “see ya” and see where it takes you. (Yep, it’s a tip that’s worked countless times for the DOLLY girls!)

Mastering that killer kiss can be tough. We called in the experts to share their best kissing tips to ensure you do it better than his ex!

• Match his body language. If he’s looking at you googly eyed, do it back and hold his gaze for three seconds. If he’s facing his body towards you or leaning in, copy him. Guys are petrified of rejection so all these little things tell him you’re interested in taking things to the next level.
• Take his cues. If he’s sticking to your lips, don’t shove your tongue down his throat or turn your tongue around so his mouth gets a workout! Oh and don’t open your mouth too widely as this causes both your teeth to clash.
• Don’t be afraid to use your hands. Run them through his hair and run your hands down from his neck to his elbows, or gently hold on to his shoulders to steady yourself and help make that kiss all the more smooth and seamless.

• Close your eyes. Nobody wants to have a staring competition whilst kissing you at the same time. However, don't keep your eyes closed for too long. There's nothing more embarrassing than opening your eyes after a 5-minute dance floor pash to realise he's on the other side of the room.
• Watch the hair product. If you're going for the sexy-hand-sweep through his hair, make sure he doesn't use too much product. You could find your hand getting caught in a sea of hair wax half way. Very awkward.
• The all-important tongue. Make sure it's there, but remember the tongue is only a support-act, the lips are the real star of the show. Nobody wants to experience a drive-thru car-wash in their own mouth.
• Have a mint on hand. Bad breath should be punishable by law. Ensure you always have a tic-tac or a mint on you to pop in your mouth before you get your mack on. If you're looking for your perfect Edward Cullen, just a reminder that garlic is fatal to vampires. Do you really want to be known as 'Felicity Fatal-Pash'?

William Cane, International author of The Art Of Kissing (kissing.com) says having a little chat is key to a great kiss. “When kissing, open your eyes now and then and whisper sweet things to your partner. This is technically known as the talking kiss and it’s a way for you to add some fun into any kiss. Try funny lines like “You have nice ears” or “I can’t breathe!” says William. But be warned: do not criticize him while kissing. Save your negative comments for another day. Willaim also suggests biting your crush’s lower lip (but not hard!) “It’s an element that most guys find exciting!”
