11 Reasons To Heart...Wes Carr!
Wes Carr is finally about to head off on his first national tour since he was voted as 2008's Australian Idol, promoting his album, The Way the World Looks. DOLLY sat down with Wes and put the pressure on him with a round of quick-fire (and hard-pressing) questions. We have to say he did pretty well, and our verdict? Yep, there are definitely 11 reasons to heart Wes Carr!

1. Wes read DOLLY as a teenager! Yep, for serious guys! "My sister used to collect DOLLY and she had heaps of them under her bed. I used to read it; I'd flip straight to the DOLLY Doctor section!"
2. Wes wrote a couple of the songs he'll be performing on his tour when he was a teenager. "It's cool that everyone is finally hearing the songs I wrote years ago." You're too right, Wes, that is cool!
3. He still lives and hangs out in the same place he lived and hung out at before he was famous, Bondi! "I used to just be the guy that played at the local pubs, now I'm the guy that won Idol. It's pretty weird."
4. He appreciates his success. "It's amazing to have people I admired as a kid, sports stars like Wayne Carey, coming up to me and saying 'I've got your new album and I love it!' Very humbling."
5. When they decided to re-shoot the video for his first single, 'You', Wes ran down to Bondi Beach (from the shoot location) and asked a few random girls if they'd like to be in the video clip! Sigh. Wish we were there that day!
6. He'd spend his last $20 on... flowers for his girlfriend! There are no words for that kind of sweetness!
7. He can laugh at himself. "I once fell off the stage when performing in a shopping centre!"
8. He gets star struck. He couldn't believe it when he met Jermaine Jackson on Idol last year.
9. His nickname is longer than his name. Let us explain. Wes gets called "Wes" by most people, but as a nickname his friends call him "Wesley"!
10. His most treasured possessions are his guitars.
11. He hasn't forgotten all about Australian Idol. "The thing I'm looking forward to most about the tour is meeting all the people that voted for me on Idol."
