No Reject
At DOLLY HQ it’s no secret we love a nice lookin’ muso boy. We’ve long been in love with All American Rejects front man Tyson Ritter, (and apparently so have you if the Facebook response we got when we posted about meeting him is anything to go by!).
After meeting Tyson we’ve become obsessed, so we’ve gathered our favourite things about the hottie from Oklahoma and put them here for everyone’s enjoyment!
Aussie Roots
Tyson was always a massive fan of rock music and absolutely loved the classic Aussie band AC/DC. “I’d be up all night watching AC/DC, then jumping up on the table in my pyjamas and pretending to be (lead singer) Bon Scott” he revealed. Wish we saw that!
Simple Stillwater
Coming from a small town had its advantages for Tyson because it meant he had to find ways to entertain himself and luckily for us, that meant making music. “Stillwater was actually perfect for us. It pretty much screams un-excitement so the only thing you can do here is write music” the star said.
Bandslam
Tyson – who’s nickname is Ty – met fellow band member, Nick Wheeler, in high school where they combined their skills and began jamming together. By the year 2000 two other members were found and the band was fully formed so albums were in the making! Tyson likes to write songs about things close to his heart, most of his latest works are about his ex-girlfriend who he stayed with even though she “cut him”. That’s right guys, ex-girlfriend. Tyson is officially single after splitting with girlfriend Kim in June. We’re in with a chance!
Cool Collaborations
We were so psyched to hear that Tyson will be collaborating with R&B hottie Rhianna on her upcoming album. “I’ve got some songs for her, like, little things written, and I want to see what she wants. See if she wants something aggressive and rock, and I’ve also kind of got some really fun, clubby ideas” he spilled. We can’t wait to hear what’s in store!
What a trouper!
Tyson recently injured his leg while on tour and unfortunately the Rejects’ had to cancel a few of their shows. However, Tyson did make it to one show after hurting his knew – in a wheelchair! And not only did he make it, he performed, jumping around in his cast for a while with some assistance.
