We may all jealous of her and her man candy (a.k.a The Zefron), but we have to admit, being BFFs with Vanessa Hudgens would be pretty awesome. She’s a pop princess, actress and style icon and she’s totally back with a new movie! Girls, get ready to be wowed as Vanessa ditches her cute, squeaky clean High School Musical image and turns edgy...(yep, that’s right, Edgy!)
Hudgo’s come a long way in her career, beginning at the age of 8 and performing in musicals such as The Wizard of Oz and Cinderella. She then made her feature film debut in Thirteen (Trivia: Twilight star Nikki Reed was in it too!) but is best known for her role as Gabriella in the High School Musical movies, where she fell in love with on-screen boyfriend Zac Efron.
Vanessa’s first movie since HSM wrapped up is Bandslam. It tells the story of a group of teens who find love and friendship while preparing for their school’s battle of the bands. Vanessa stars as weird gritty high school student alongside actress Lisa Kudrow (better known as Pheobe, the funny and musical one from 90’s TV show Friends), and with all the singing and laughter, at times you’ll feel like you’re watching HSM again!
So what did V have to say about her super-cool role in Bandslam?
"Playing Sam was a lot of fun for me because it’s so opposite of me and opposite of the characters I’ve been playing."
You have to admit Vanessa has recovered very well from the nude photo scandal that threatened to ruin her career a couple of years ago. Of the embarrassing incident, when photos that had been taken of Vanessa naked made their way onto the internet, Vanessa said:
"I want to apologise to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."
"I tell girls all the time: ‘Don’t post your private business for the world to see!’ You just have to be careful."
