Redhead? Check. Feisty? Yep. Hilarious? You know it! Starring in the hot new film that’s been declared the new Mean Girls? Check times a thousand! Sorry Lindsay Lohan but we’ve found your replacement, and her name is Emma Stone.
If you think Emma looks familiar, she should be! Miss Stone first got our attention in the Michael Cera comedy Superbad, playing Jonah Hill’s object of desire. Next up were roles in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and The House Bunny, with cameos in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Malcom in the Middle too.
But the role where she really owned the screen was in Zombieland, joining forces with the cute and quirky Jesse Eisenberg to take down the hordes of brain-eaters. We can’t wait for her newest project to be released, Easy A, where her character, Olive, brings down her school’s hierarchy and challenges what it means to be ‘easy’. Our take? Easy A combines the bitchiness of Mean Girls, tosses it with the quirky wit of Juno, and adds a final touch of Emma’s own special brand of awesome. Plus it co-stars the always gorgeous Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes and Alyson Michalka. Can we book tickets in advance?!
Emma says that she can really relate to the ballsy Olive. "She can be relatively obnoxious as a girl, as I can be much of the time. She's a good person at heart…I admire her strength a lot."
Born in Arizona, and spending every free moment acting in local theatre productions, Em begged her parents to let her move to L.A when she was 15. They finally relented when she played them a Power Point presentation showing the pros and cons of her being an actress, all set to the tune of Madonna’s ‘Hollywood’. As well as letting her follow her acting dreams, Emma also credits her parents for keeping her ego in check. "I've got a great family and great people around me that would be able to kick me in the shins if I ever for one minute got lost up in the clouds. I've been really lucky in that sense."
Emma has kept her relationships low-key, having dated singerTeddy Geiger on and off since first meeting him on the US reality show Search for the Next Partridge Family and then later reconnecting as band mates in comedy The Rocker. As for friends, she counts Taylor Swift amongst her closest mates.
A natural blonde, Emma dyed her locks red for her part in Superbad and stuck with it, with the attention grabbing shade becoming her trademark ever since. Hair colour aside, Emma Stone isn’t hard to miss, and we can’t wait until she launches into well-deserved super stardom!
