DECLEOR’s Qi Booster, radiance in a popsicle

, Prev Next

The idea that every gal loves a facial is about as mythical as a toad turning into a prince. Take my ma for example. Phrases like "get off me" and "not convinced" flow from her mouth the nanosecond I talk skin care. And getting her to lie patiently while someone pours over her pores is like thinking Robert Pattinson is going to buzz you on your mobile for a chat: not gonna happen.

I am usually daughter polar-opposite. However, when it comes to treatments there's a part of me that can relate to mum’s nervy-nancy-ness. I've found treatments, in their varied forms, to be somewhat either hit...or miss. So when True Solutions invited me for a DECLEOR Paris Qi Booster facial ritual, my ears pricked up in anticipation.

Missionage: To achieve radiance, relaxation, cell renewal and a natural "lift"

Result: The following before-and-after visual highlights pre treatment skin sins ranging from clogged pores, broken capillaries (hot showers = my friend/foe), three gallons of punch and a desert serving too many, to the post treatment result: Shazaam!

Before-and-after

Granted the lighting is different but even still, my skin appears like Gwen (glamajesty's therapist) scraped off all my exterior gunk and let my pores breath a loud sigh of fresh relief. I felt glowy and even received a compliment from a girlfriend on my skin days after (which with a whackadoo, moody skin type like mine, is indeed a rarity).

Party hats: The facial itself ooozed relaxation, which may have had something to do with DECLEOR's world-wide treatment inclusions of a back, arm and hand massage. Yippeee-yaya!

Whistles: I also found the Qi Booster, the headliner of this particular facial to be less prickly, more theraputic. In case you're wondering what said contraption is, DECLEOR are here to explain in their own words: "Qi Booster is a sculpting accessory that is part of the acupuncture family" And in mine, let's just say it's a modern-day Michelangelo in popsicle form.

Costage: From $150
