So I admit it. I’m jealous of my crafty friends. I once received an invite from one of my girlfriends to her ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed birthday. It came complete with a potion bottle with a tiny label reading ‘drink me,’ and attached was a playing card and a little white rabbit cut-out. It was creativity at it's peak and a mere teaser to the amazingly detailed Wonderland themed part-ay that followed (think a real red door with a real rabbit hole, ticking clocks, caterpillars, lady beetles, tiny toadstools, butterflies, and one hot Queen of Hearts Party hostess!)

Yes, the glue sticks, scrapbook patterns and coloured sticky dots have never been my thing. But 2010, you sweet thing and just for you, I’m going to give it a go!

It’s a new year and to get started I thought I’d makeover my entire room. I splashed a bit of paint on the wall, donated old clothes to charity, added some sequined decorative pillows – and got excited about my new crafty streak! If you've got the December/January issue of DOLLY you'll see on page 80 a photo board in the shape of a heart. I fell in love with it and thought it certainly could not be beyond my capabilities as the newest addition to the craft world.

I’ve decided to create my photo heart using black and white pics of my fave places, friends, boyfriend, pretty shots I love etc. I’ve also included (from the advice of our style ed, Jesse) inspirational pics of places I want to go, things I want to see etc to get this positive vision thing happening for me too! Even for the cutting-and-pasting-challenged out there, this one is easy and a beautiful way to sum up everything that is important in your life. It’s a gorgeous centre-piece for a new room and a new you!

I’ll get some pics up shortly for you all to see!

Jess xx
