The idea that every gal loves a facial is about as mythical as a toad turning into a prince. Take my ma for example. Phrases like "get off me" and "not convinced" flow from her mouth the nanosecond I talk skin care. And getting her to lie patiently while someone pours over her pores is like thinking Robert Pattinson is going to buzz you on your mobile for a chat: not gonna happen.

This is going to make me seem really old, but I remember when the first Toy Story film came out. It was 1995, and cargo pants and Hawaiian print button up shirts were all the rage. My mum took my brother and I to see it at the movies, and I remember being absolutely wowed by Buzz, Woody and the gang, and just how real they seemed.

Okay, so we all know that Sportsgirl’s pretty much the closest thing us Aussie girls have to Topshop, especially given their fabber than fab designer collaborations. This turn of the decade, they’ve really outdone their fashionable selves...

So I admit it. I’m jealous of my crafty friends. I once received an invite from one of my girlfriends to her ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed birthday. It came complete with a potion bottle with a tiny label reading ‘drink me,’ and attached was a playing card and a little white rabbit cut-out. It was creativity at its peak and a mere teaser to the amazing detailed-clad Wonderland-themed part-ay that followed (think a real red door with a real rabbit hole, ticking clocks, caterpillars, lady beetles, tiny toadstools, butterflies, and one hot Queen of Hearts Party hostess!) Yes, the glue sticks, scrapbook patterns and coloured sticky dots have never been my thing. But 2010, you sweet thing and just for you, I’m going to give it a go!

It’s a new year and to get started

It's exciting times for DOLLY magazine! Our new editor Tiffany Dunk is on board, and the February issue of DOLLY with the gorgeous Taylor Swift on the cover has just hit the stands. Tiff has taken some time out of her busy schedule to tell us about the new mag, and a little about herself too.

As '09 disapears into a puff of WON'T-MISS-YOU-EVEN-A-LITTLE-BIT, I wanted to bring to your attention some of the beauty greats that made it onto counters and into hearts (mine, namely) last year.

There is something very settling about floating on a random sandbank in the middle of the ocean watching the sunset creep below the distant island. No, I’m not talking about the utopic dream I had last night (R-Pattz and a shirtless Taylor Lautner would be swimming with me in the water if this were the case), but a very real adventure you can take as part of your Unleashed Schoolies trip to Fiji...

Let me describe to you a little bit about where I am. Crystal blue water, a minimum temp of 30 degrees every day, beach parties under the moon (and then the sun if you make it to the wee hours of the morning!) and a singing Fijian choir to greet you at the island’s wharf. Jealous much?

So, our November issue is now on sale (the one with New Mooners, Kay & Tay on the cover – haaaaawwwwwwwwwttttttttttt!) And this means I can now brag about the other fragrance pics I took for the story on p.120. I prefer these three shots but Rose, our art director went for the ice shot which featured in the mag. Which do y’all prefer?
