If you’re not already acquainted, we’d like to introduce you to the 15-year-old guy causing teen girls to squeal like Robert Pattinson, the Jonas Brothers and Zac Efron are standing in front of them. Meet Justin Bieber - after starting to sing only three years ago he’s smashing the US charts with his catchy R&B pop and causing chaos in shopping centres. Seriously!
Lucky Online
At the ripe old age (not) of 12, Justin entered a singing contest in his home country Canada called Stratford Idol and came second. After realising his voice was not at all bad, he decided to pursue singing and music more seriously, and posted videos of himself on YouTube covering songs from artists like Usher and Chris Brown so his family could see him perform (so cute).
Justin got much more than he bargained for though; he got noticed by some important peeps in the music industry and had a manager in no time.
But his good luck didn’t end there – Chris Brown personally congratulated him after seeing his rendition of ‘With You’!
The Battle for Bieber
After being discovered by his now manager, some of the biggest names in the business were very keen to sign Justin to their record labels. Usher and Justin Timberlake fought it out to make him their own, but in the end he decided to sign with Usher.
"Right when we flew into Atlanta... Usher was there in the parking lot," Justin remembers. "That was my first time ever being out of Canada so I went up to him and was like, ‘Hey Usher, I love your songs, do you want me to sing you one?’ He was like, ‘No little buddy, just come inside, it’s cold out.'"
"A week later Usher flew me back to Atlanta [and] I sang for him and his people and he really wanted to sign me then and there but I still had a meeting with Justin Timberlake who also wanted to sign me. It turned out Usher’s deal was way better."
Wow, a decision like that doesn’t come along every day! Now Justin joins the likes of Lily Allen and the Arctic Monkeys who got discovered on the World Wide Web.

Stampede!
Justin’s popularity was majorly underestimated when a scheduled performance at a US shopping centre for an expected 300 people turned into chaos when 2000 fans showed up wanting a piece of Justin!
The police were called to break it up, and some people were arrested and injured. Sheesh, those girls must’ve known they were onto something special!
Justin’s World
Justin’s debut album, My World, which was produced by the minds behind songs like Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ and Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)’, has received so much attention, this rising star is the first EVER in the US Billboard chart’s history to have four singles off a debut album to place in the top 40, before the album has even been released.
Wow- We think big things are in store for the future!
What a trouper!
While on tour with Taylor Swift in the UK recently - yep, he's that big - Justin broke his foot on stage in front of over 11,000 people. The best bit is there was no crying and leaving the stage mid song, oh no! Justin finished the song and gingerly hobbled off the stage. Now that's dedication!
